Where are the APHRODITE products manufactured?
The APHRODITE products are formulated and manufactured in Heraklion, Crete, Greece by strictly following the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). We are certified by the Greek National Drug Administration and we are certified under the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22716:2007 standards.
What is the shelf life of APHRODITE products?
We place the safety of our consumers as a top priority. Each of our products has a shelf life more than 30 months. With regards to the European Union legislation, mentioning the use-by-date on skin care product packaging is not mandatory when the shelf life is more than 30 months, but we ensure that each product is marked with its batch number.
What is the LOT (or batch number)?
The number printed on the top/side/bottom of each product is the batch code – the date that the product was made. The first two digits represent the year, the second 2 digits represent the month, and the final 3 digits represent the batch. For example, batch code ‘1210031’ indicates the product was the 31st batch made on October, 2012.
How long can I keep a product once I have opened it?
Each of our skin care products mentions the Period After Opening. The number inside the open jar illustration on the packaging indicates the recommended period of use of each product in months after the primary packaging has been opened.

How can I be sure that the APHRODITE products are effective?
To create each formula, we start with scientific research to locate the most beneficial ingredients that are effective when used on the skin. When a product formulation is decided, only the very best quality ingredients are used. They must be free of radiation, residues, and microbial contamination. When the right ingredients are found, they are combined with Cretan organic olive oil, which is proved to be the best quality worldwide to formulate the final product. Each skin care product contains an effective amount of these active ingredients that are blended with our biomimetic olive oil crystal technology that acts as a carrier to transfer the benefits of key ingredients directly to your skin. Once each formulation is completed, it is tested for safety and stability.
Does APHRODITE perform animal testing?
We do not conduct animal testing on our APHRODITE products.
Are the APHRODITE exfoliating products plastic free?
Yes. We do not use any plastic derivatives in any of our products. The particles in our Facial Scrub (Z-21) are from ground olive seeds and jojoba. The particles in our Body Scrub (Z-35) are from ground olive & almond seeds. The particles in our Donkey milk body scrub (D-35) are from the vegetable luffah sponge and quartz crystals.
Where does the Palm Oil used in the APHRODITE soaps come from?
Our palm oil comes from sustainably harvested palm farms and is originated from Malaysia or the Philippines.
Are APHRODITE products made with natural ingredients?
We systematically favor natural base and active ingredients of sustainable origin. We also use active ingredients from biotechnology for their superior effectiveness. Each product clearly states on its packaging the naturality percentage that it has.
Do APHRODITE products contain parabens?
No, APHRODITE products do not contain parabens. Instead, we have chosen an alternative preservative system that is recognized by the European Union cosmetic regulations as safe and effective.
What is the preservative system that you use?
The safety and efficacy of our products is our top priority. At APHRODITE, we are continuously researching new ingredients to provide the best quality, gentle, safe products that deliver visible and immediate results. To achieve this, all our skin care formulations contain phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin as their preserving system because they have successfully passed challenge tests when many other natural preservatives have failed. Our personal care formulas contain sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate as their preservative system. These preservative systems are also acceptable by the European Union that is known for their strict regulations regarding the safety and toxicity of ingredients.
Which APHRODITE products are vegan?
Many of our products are vegan, except those that contain donkey milk, honey, beeswax, yogurt proteins, snail secretion filtrate or marine collagen. You may contact us for more details.
